Privacy Policy

CareersCopilot is a career intelligence platform offering AI-assisted career scoring, resume/CV writing, interview preparation, salary benchmarking, job search, and a marketplace of independent career-service partners. This policy explains what data we collect across those features, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.

Account & profile information: name, email, phone, gender, date of birth, headline, and location, collected when you sign in via LinkedIn/Google or complete your profile.

Career history: education (institution, degree, entrance exam scores, GPA), and work experience (company, title, industry, dates, salary/compensation, promotions), which you provide to generate your Career Score and Salary Map benchmarks.

Resumes & CVs: resume files you upload, the AI-rewritten CVs generated for you, and any job description you paste in for tailoring — stored securely in our cloud file storage.

Job search & interview data: your target role, experience level, desired location and skills, and, for interview preparation requests, job description and company details you provide.

Payment information: your email, selected plan, amount, promo code (if any), and the UPI/bank transaction reference (UTR) number you submit for manual payment verification. We do not collect or store full card or bank account numbers.

Usage data: feature usage counts (e.g. jobs viewed, CVs generated, interview preps requested) used to enforce plan limits.

Technical & analytics data: page views, IP address, browser/user-agent, referrer, and session cookies, collected to secure the platform and understand how it is used.

Feedback & reviews: ratings and comments you submit through our feedback widget.

Partner & business data: if you register as a service partner, we collect your business name, contact details, service offerings, and description; if you use our resume-screening tool as a business, see Section 6 below.

• To calculate and display your Career Score, percentile, and component sub-scores;
• To generate AI-written CVs and interview preparation content tailored to you;
• To benchmark your compensation against aggregated salary data (Salary Map);
• To match and display relevant job listings and enforce plan-based usage limits;
• To verify payments, activate and manage your subscription plan, and apply promo codes;
• To connect you with marketplace partners you choose to contact, or route your resume-screening submissions to our AI processing;
• To operate, secure, debug, and improve the platform, including analysing page-view and usage patterns;
• To respond to support requests and collect feedback; and
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

To generate Career Scores, rewritten CVs, and interview preparation content, we send relevant portions of your profile, resume, and job description data to a third-party AI model provider (Anthropic) for processing. This data is transmitted securely and is used only to generate the output you requested; it is not used by us to publicly train or improve unrelated third-party models beyond the provider's own data-handling terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

• Marketplace partners: when you choose to engage a partner listed on CareersCopilot, we share the contact details needed for them to respond to you (e.g. name, email, phone).
• Service providers: cloud storage for resumes/CVs, our AI processing provider, email delivery for notifications, and authentication providers (LinkedIn, Google), each acting on our behalf and bound to protect your data.
• Legal & safety: where required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of CareersCopilot, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply to your data.

Our resume-screening tool lets verified business users submit batches of candidate resumes and a job description for AI-assisted matching. If a business submits your resume through this feature (for example, because you applied to that business directly), we process your resume solely to generate screening results for that business and do not use it to build your CareersCopilot profile unless you separately create an account. The submitting business is responsible for ensuring it had a lawful basis to share your data with us — see Section 9 of our Terms. We use a session cookie to keep you signed in after you authenticate via LinkedIn or Google. We also record page-view events (page, source, IP address, user agent, referrer) to understand traffic and detect abuse. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent you from staying logged in.

Resumes, CVs, and other uploaded files are stored in access-controlled cloud storage and served only via time-limited, signed URLs. We use industry-standard measures such as encryption in transit and restricted database access to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your information protected and to respond promptly to any suspected incident.

We retain your account, career history, and resume data for as long as your account is active, so that features like your Career Score history and CV drafts remain available to you. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (such as payment records) for legal, accounting, or dispute purposes.

Subject to applicable law — including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate or incomplete data, most of which you can edit directly from your Profile;
• request deletion of your account and associated personal data;
• withdraw consent for optional processing, where consent is the basis for that processing; and
• lodge a grievance with us, or with the competent data protection authority, if you believe your data has been misused.

CareersCopilot is intended for working professionals and job seekers aged 18 and above, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

CareersCopilot is operated from India and primarily serves users in India, including through our International Study & Careers partner service. If you access CareersCopilot from outside India, your information will be processed in India and, where applicable, by service providers located in other countries, in accordance with this policy.

Our platform links to third-party services (such as LinkedIn and Google for sign-in, and websites of marketplace partners). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties; please review their own privacy policies before sharing information with them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and material changes will be communicated where reasonably practicable. Continued use of CareersCopilot after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
